Covid-19 UK & Worldwide.

As I’m sure you’re well aware, the spread of the new Corona Virus has decimated travel across the world.  My April Trip to Nepal & Tibet was the first one to be cancelled, then it soon became clear that we could not run the French Alps Trip either. Even the closer-to-home “Best of Three” trips have to be postponed for now because restaurants, hotels & pubs are closed and all non-essential travel is forbidden.  I think it’s fair to say that nothing can be planned for the Summer months of May to August now.  It’s very much speculation at this stage, but if we’re able to run a short trip to the Yorkshire Dales in September, we shall do so. No promises can be given however.  Again, it’s a little early to say, but hopefully we’ll be able to look forward to a trip back to Nepal in November 2020, and plan for the big Adventure in Tibet, late April 2021.

In the meantime, please keep in touch via our Facebook Group here  Let’s look back on the great trips we’ve enjoyed together and start to dream again of the adventures we can have when things return to normal.

3 day

guided trip

Max 12

What the suitability – all types of rider including pillions. Not “easy” riding, but nothing too horrendous. Serves as an annual reunion for my regular Bike Tours UK guests, but also as a great introduction to adventure touring prior to joining a more ambitious tour.

What about accommodation – basic Country Pub rooms. (or a camping option)

How many mileage – around 550 miles Nottingham back to Nottingham.

Where is it? – Derbyshire Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, English Lake District. (3 UK National Parks)

How difficulty is it – 3/5. Bear in mind, we ride the tricky Wrynose & Hardknott Passes, which nervous riders may find intimidating. All on paved roads, but some steep gradients.

When is it? – proposed 2020 dates; (March 20th to 22nd on adventure or dual sport bikes?), April 17th to 19th

How much does it cost – £99 (camping version) £175 to £235 per rider depending on room occupancy.

How many days is it – 3 days

Derbyshire Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, English Lake District. (3 UK National Parks)

3 days’ guided riding. 2 nights’ basic to mid-range pub rooms with breakfasts.

September 2020 – if at all possible

Price TBC

More about the tour

I live in Nottingham now, but the Yorkshire Dales was my stomping ground as soon as I bought my first bike. It’s a beautiful National Park, defined by its Karst (limestone) features, sheep and great pubs. Therefore I offer this as a long weekend “mini-tour”. Normally starting in Nottingham, we then ride in three different National Parks over three days. We generally stick to the quiet twisty backgrounds, avoiding motorways if we can. At the close of play, we lock up the bikes, retire to a traditional English Pub, eat Pie & Chips or some similar nutritional delight, and then put the world to rights over a few pints of Real Ale. It’s a great taster of “English life” for overseas visitors. We can assist with bike rental if required. It’s just so pleasant and predictable, year after year. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

If you're interested, please send an enquiry and we can go from there

I’m sorry to say we cannot run any of these tours right now due to the spread of Covid-19. Please keep in touch via Facebook and we’ll try to resume the tours as soon as possible.
