How many mileage – around 550 miles Nottingham back to Nottingham.

Where is it? – Derbyshire Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, English Lake District. (3 UK National Parks)

How difficulty is it – 3/5. Bear in mind, we ride the tricky Wrynose & Hardknott Passes, which nervous riders may find intimidating. All on paved roads, but some steep gradients.

More about the tour

I live in Nottingham now, but the Yorkshire Dales was my stomping ground as soon as I bought my first bike. It’s a beautiful National Park, defined by its Karst (limestone) features, sheep and great pubs. Therefore I offer this as a long weekend “mini-tour”. Normally starting in Nottingham, we then ride in three different National Parks over three days. We generally stick to the quiet twisty backgrounds, avoiding motorways if we can. At the close of play, we lock up the bikes, retire to a traditional English Pub, eat Pie & Chips or some similar nutritional delight, and then put the world to rights over a few pints of Real Ale. It’s a great taster of “English life” for overseas visitors. We can assist with bike rental if required. It’s just so pleasant and predictable, year after year. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
