More about the tour
This is the long-established & most popular overseas tour. My guided motorcycle trip to the High Alps of Savoie has been running once or twice per year now since 2000, and my history of going there with groups dates right back to 1983. The main attraction is to ride some of the most dramatic and highest mountain passes in France, Italy and Switzerland. It’s a two day ride to get there, and the same to get home again, staying in traditional French hotels en-route. We make our base for 7 days in or close to Bourg St Maurice, using self-catering chalets, thereby keeping costs in check, but also enjoying the outdoor Alpine life. AS WITH ALL MY TOURS, please view the photo albums on the Bike Tours UK Group Facebook page if you can. There are lots and lots of photos of each trip, and comments from riders & pillions who’ve been there.
Amazing scenery, fantastic roads (best in the world?), expert local knowledge with fluent French speaking guide (me!). Plus, lots more to do than just biking….. summer skiing or white water rafting for example!
If you're interested, please send an enquiry and we can go from there
EPIC!! Great views
I’ve also joined Bill on two Nepal Tours, the first time alone and the second with my partner who also rides. To sum these trips up in one word is simple….. EPIC!! Great views, incredible and challenging riding, a real flavour of the true Nepal and an amazing support crew are all on the agenda. If you’ve never ridden anywhere like Nepal then you should definitely try this!
Many great memories
The Alps Tour (2008) remains a highlight of my life. Many great memories of a real ‘adventure’. It never felt overly prescribed, in fact it felt spontaneous, like a bunch of mates out for a 10-day ride. The roads and routes that Bill chose were challenging and rewarding, with breathtaking scenery and great food and beverage stops along the way. Can’t imagine any better roads in the world to ride. I came from Canada and it was my first time on a ‘big bike’ (600cc) and I worried I was taking on more than I could handle, but Bill and the rest of the group we had that year were encouraging and supportive, and made sure I was never left behind! Great comraderie, loads of laughs and lifelong friends were made. If I lived in the UK or Europe, I’d be attending more of Bill’s tours on a regular basis.
I’ve been on several tours with Bike Tours Uk and each and every one of them has been a brilliant experience. Twice on the Best of Three tour we’ve been blessed with largely excellent weather and the small village in which we stayed was stunning with homely local pubs, good grub and a friendly welcoming atmosphere. Having run the trip for years Bills and sniffed out all the best roads to ride including some quite challenging Lake District passes.
