I can do this same trip but with the main stay in Bourg St Maurice in a new Chalet on the campsite. The "Chalet" pictured is about the same as a static caravan, or mobile home in size, and has its own private bathroom and two separate sleeping areas.  There's a double bed in one room, and two single beds in the other.  There is also a pull-out bed in the lounge area.

As long as you're familiar with this kind of thing, and don't expect a penthouse - one of the larger chalets can accommodate 4 friends quite adequately.

In 2008, it was raining so heavily on arrival, that we put about 8 people in each one, until it was dry enough to put tents up the next day.

 
The campsite is 10 minutes walk from the centre of Bourg St Maurice. It's opposite an excellent shoping area with 2 good supermarkets, a jetwash, and there is a swimming pool next door (open air, "topless" in the months of July & August).
