Wrynose and Hardknott Passes - great roads in the sunshine - but dead scary if it's pouring down with rain and the road is awash with loose gravel!

I think these two passes are more demanding than the high Alpine passes of France.  Some tour leaders won't take their guests over here, but for most people these two passes are the absolute highlight of the tour.

This is how it is.  To be an all-round, accomplished, Motorcycle Tourer, or skier, or off-toad rider, sometimes you just have to take the rough with the smooth.
