Support driver sometimes needed

This section is less relevant now, as we now have permanent premises in Thailand and our own Thai driver.

Don't hesistate to to ask however, if you fancy a trip by jeep not bike.

Want a cheap trip? Do you, or does a friend not ride a bike, but can drive a car?

We can always use someone to drive the 4x4 for us. We used a local Thai bloke (Yoot) in January 2003, and have always had a driver / helper ever since.

Various people have said "can my wife / girlfriend / mate come along as well, but they don't ride?" YES - everything is possible. We always need a driver, and there will also be at least one extra seat in the jeep if anyone else wants to come along for the ride.

The jeep follows a paved route around the Mae Hong Son loop, and we meet up every evening (& lunches sometimes). The jeep must be capable of being driven up the dirt tracks if the need arises. It's our "rescue" service, which I hope we never need - but it's nice to know it's there.

Communication between riders and driver is generally OK in most, but not all areas, via mobile phone or walkie talkie.

If the 4x4 breaks down - we fix it!!!!!

Thanks to drivers Tom & Adrian for Feb 2004.

Thanks to Ian & Karen for Nov 2004.

In Jan 2005 we got Khum, a local Thai driver instead, who turned up where he was supposed to, sometimes.

Thanks to Gary & Anne who drove for us in Nov 2005

The Russians for Feb 2006 probably have their own driver. No. Thanks to Martin & Terry who provided support on this one.

Thank you Stuart - who was the support man in Nov 2006.
