Set in, Great Langdale, one of the most spectacular valleys in the English Lake District, this Inn is an absolute gem. It's owned by The National Trust and sits right in the heart of hiking and climbing country.
It's not a business hotel - real people go there. It's what a hotel ought to be.
May I paraphrase a chat I had with the manager the other week...
"I should have a sign displayed outside here every weekend which reads, No Newspapers delivered to rooms, No Televisions in rooms, No Gaming machines in the bar, No trouser presses , No fancy folded bog roll, NO VACANCIES"
Bikers are welcome, as the owners and staff ride a Harley and a BMW. In fact all people are welcome, and the atmosphere at weekends in the Hikers' Bar is unbeatable.
This place is one of my personal favourites. I've been here many times myself (to the bar of course!) and often send my guests here. One of the best places to stay in the Lake District. Honestly, one of my favourite places, and this is a sentiment backed up by many of my Bike Tours UK guests.
