Granlea House welcomes bikers to Scotland

Dear Bill,

I saw your ad in the latest 'two' magazine.  I note that you advertise tours around the UK as well as overseas.  With this in mind, I wonder if you may be interested in our very 'Biker friendly' Guest House which is situated in the Cairngorms National Park, roughly 10 mins' ride from Aviemore.

I have 3 bikes myself (the latest addition is a Gixer 1000 K6 which hasn't seen a road yet as I'm not registering it 'till 01 March!).  I have been riding for over 25yrs and yes, I'm female!!!  Before moving up here to run the Guest House 3 yrs ago, I used to tour around the North of Scotland quite a bit; so I am very 'au fait' with the Highland roads (note the bike roads, not truckers routes!).  We have been successful in increasing the amount of 2 wheeled traffic  through the GH over the last couple of seasons, but I am keen to expand on this.  The Guest House is 3* STB listed; we also have a self-catering cottage which sleeps up to 6 (also 3*). We can cater for a group of up to 15 if we use the cottage as overflow.

We have advertised in MCN, HOC and RC30 o/c mags (yes I also have an RC30).  I'm just about to get things organised with the SOC now I have the Gixer.  We have also been awarded the 'Bikers Welcome' logo from Visit Scotland as we are very geared up to accommodating motorcyclists:

Huge garage for dry/secure bike and equipment storage
Drying facilities
Bike cleaning facilities
Very filling breakfasts (we can do evening meals for groups only staying a minimum of 2 nights)
Group/multiple night discounts
Although we aren't licensed, there is a Hotel within 5 mins walk
Extensive knowledge of good bike routes - we have route advice available
I have close dealings with a bike shop in Inverness if anyone finds themselves in trouble!

I do try to do a few escorted rideouts myself ( workload permitting just to get me out of the house), but I'm more than willing to help with route planning etc.  Needless to say I don't get out as often as I'd like to!  In addition, there are a few local riders who are keen to meet other 2 wheeled enthusiasts!

Anyway, if you feel our pad may be of interest to your organisation, please feel free to contact me on:
