Kenya, a motorcyclists’ paradise waiting to be discovered
"White-sand beaches, thick rainforests, never-ending savannas, dreamy island worlds, snow-covered mountains, lush pastureland, fertile highlands, turquoise colored ocean, extinct volcanoes, majestic mountain ranges, abundant lakes, bubbling geysers, steaming primeval forests, and shimmering deserts; Kenya is a kaleidoscope of magnificent natural landscapes". (Furstenbereg)
I went to Kenya once - hired a small 4x4 and did a self-guided tour from Mombasa to Shimba Hills, then to the Tsavo East game reserve, then the Sala Gate tented "crocodile" camp, and finally back to the coast near Malindi. On an earlier, more organised safari in Tsavo West, we saw a "kill" right by the side of the road. There was a zebra crossing (a joke which gets very tired) and it was ambushed by a pride of lions, right in front of us. The zebra lost. A most excellent adventure. Recommended. Bill.
Talk to the guys at Furstenberg Safaris if you fancy doing this on a motorcycle. |
