The place where I live, and where you may start your tour, or pick up a rental bike, is a small, quiet suburb, about 1 mile from Nottingham City Centre.
It has no major features to attract international tourists, but has a decent pub / restaurant at the end of the road (The Ferry Inn) and a couple of more serious waterholes within staggering distance (The Vat & Fiddle and The Stratford Haven).
There is no accommodation offered in the village itself, but my guests usually stay in a choice of B&B or hotels in nearby West Bridgford, again about 1 to 1,5 miles from here.
We have recently begun trying to restore a feeling of good old-fashioned Community Spirit in the village. The Chairman of the local community group as put together a nice little website (link below)so you can find out more if you wish.
Don't be alarmed by the talk of crime on our streets! We are on the edge of a major UK city, and our problems are no worse or no better than anywhere else in Britain. In reality, it a pretty quiet and peaceful location, and we want to keep it that way.
