The Dordogne region of France is known for its cuisine and local specialities.
We're on a half board basis at the hotel, and they feed us a 3 or 4 course meal every night in their riverside restaurant.
It's usually a set meal, you get what you're given - and it's DELICIOUS!
However, we are offered some of the best local delicacies, and not every dish will suit all palettes. If it something you really can't stomach, the staff will offer you someting a bit more "English". If you must. Fair point though. I'm not a big fish eater, so id that's the "plat du jour" I'll take the alternative.
The dish pictured is "Gesiers".
Expect also; Confit du Canard (my favourite), Pate de Foie Gras, Truffes (truffles), Cassoulet perhaps and locally caught Trout. |
