Bike Tours UK normally uses Country Inns or guesthouses in the UK which have more emphasis on "character" and a genuine welcome, rather than those chain hotels just chasing an extra star in the accommodation guides.

Something a little different about Bike Tours UK, is that we can also offer a camping alternative on many trips. This isn't just about saving money, even though it does reduce costs enormously, it's more about lifestyle. Many people, myself included, enjoy the freedom and "back-to-nature" feel of camping. There is absolutely no formality required either.

Some of the places listed on the right are Inns or hotels we use on our trips. Bear in mind, these choices will reflect my own particular preferences. I'm not someone who is impressed by the need to fold the toilet paper into a pretty point every morning. I'd rather the place had friendly staff, a nice bar with good beer & food, and lovely, interesting people to fill it.

Other listed hotels are places owned by motorcyclists, or by people who have written to me actively encouraging motorcyclists to visit their hotel.

If I don't know the establishment, but it looks OK I'll often provide a link. Just by the fact that a hotel owner asks for a link, obviously means they have no prejudice against motorcyclists - which of course is a great start!

Many of you will begin your visit to the UK by landing at either Gatwick or Heathrow airports just outside London. I'm not a great fan of London - it's a big, busy, congested place with very little appeal as regards riding a motorcycle.
