Awaiting update.
On trips up to Scotland, we use classic Inns such as the Clachaig in Glen Coe (much in demand, like The Old Dungeon Ghyll).
Alternatively, we can use more up-market 4 star business places, where half the guests are men in suits tapping away on lap top computers, and the other half are wealthy tourists who don't know any better, but found the place on a search engine. You choose.
The Letterfinlay Lodge is a perfect compromise. It's a fine loch-side hotel at Spean Bridge not far from Fort William with well kept rooms, dining room overlooking the water, but it's not overly expensive.
